1. Introduction & data controller

GENOPAWS Co., Ltd. (“GENOPAWS”, “we”, “us”) places the highest importance on protecting personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and protect your personal data when you use our website, membership system, and pet genetic-testing services, in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA). GENOPAWS is the “data controller” for personal data processed under this Policy. By using the Service, you confirm you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the Service, namely:
  • LINE profile data, such as display name, picture, and user identifier, when you log in with LINE;
  • Membership details, such as full name, phone number, email, and date of birth;
  • Pet information, such as name, species, breed, photo, date of birth, microchip number, and owner name;
  • Sample and Genetic Information, namely the pet's biological specimen and DNA test results;
  • Service-use data, such as bookings, home-visit appointments, and service history;
  • Website-usage data, such as browser type and pages viewed, collected via log files and necessary cookies.
For clarity, the Genetic Information we hold belongs to the pet, not to any human, and the only human personal data we hold is that of the pet's owner.

3. How we collect your data

We collect personal data from the following sources: (a) information you provide directly when registering, adding a pet, or booking; (b) information received when you log in with LINE, within the scope you authorise; (c) information generated during use of the Service, such as laboratory results; and (d) information collected automatically via log files and cookies necessary for the system to function.

4. Purposes & lawful basis for processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:
  • To provide the pet genetic-testing service, analyse the Sample, and produce results;
  • To verify your membership and display results in your account;
  • To contact you about the service, appointments, and customer support;
  • To improve and develop the Service (using non-identifiable Aggregated Data);
  • To comply with the law and to establish or defend legal claims.
We process on appropriate lawful bases, namely the consent you give at sign-up, performance of our contract to serve you, compliance with law, and our legitimate interest in operating the business securely. We do not sell your data.

5. Disclosure & recipients

We disclose data only as necessary to the following recipients:
  • Our laboratory partner (Orivet), for genetic analysis of the Sample;
  • IT / cloud-infrastructure providers processing data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations;
  • Professionals you authorise to receive your results;
  • Government or regulatory authorities, where required by law.
We will not disclose your data to insurers or for third-party marketing, and we do not sell your data.

6. International data transfers

Because our laboratory partner may be located outside Thailand, the Sample and the data necessary for analysis may be transferred or sent abroad. Where this occurs, we put in place appropriate safeguards as required by the PDPA, or act under a lawful exception, so that your data receives an adequate level of protection.

7. Marketing & communications

We may send news, promotions, or information about our services via LINE or email, based on your consent or as permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting us; we will still send essential messages about your service, appointments, or results.

8. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as you remain a member and use the Service, and thereafter for as long as necessary to comply with the law, to establish or defend legal claims within the prescription period, or for accounting and tax purposes. After that period, or upon your deletion request, we will delete or anonymise the data unless the law requires us to retain it.

9. Security measures

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. Your results are confidential and accessible only to you through your own LINE login; no other customer can access them, and relevant staff or processors are bound by confidentiality. In the event of a personal-data breach, we will act as required by law.

10. Your rights as a data subject

Under the PDPA, you have the following rights:
  • The right to access and obtain a copy of your personal data;
  • The right to rectify inaccurate or out-of-date data;
  • The right to erase or destroy data;
  • The right to restrict processing;
  • The right to object to processing;
  • The right to data portability;
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).

11. Exercising your rights

You may exercise your rights by contacting us through the channels in Section 15 (e.g. via LINE or email). We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting, and will respond within the period required by law (generally within 30 days). Some rights may be limited as permitted by law, in which case we will explain the reason.

12. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data is unlawful, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC). We encourage you to contact us first so we can address your concern.

13. Cookies & login

The website uses cookies and browser storage only as necessary to keep you logged in and to make the system function. We do not use third-party advertising-tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, but some functions of the Service may not work properly.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or the law. The latest update date is shown at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after an update signifies your acknowledgement of the updated Policy.
